NIP review preliminary position response form
Overview
FSANZ is examining consumer use and understanding of the nutrition information panel (NIP) to assess whether regulatory changes to the NIP are needed to better support consumers to make informed food choices. FSANZ has published a preliminary position paper that provides an overview of the review’s scope, methodological approach, evidence considered to date, and current findings.
FSANZ welcomes stakeholder feedback on our preliminary position and invites additional information or perspectives that may inform our final recommendations to food ministers in early 2026.
A summary of what we heard through this process will be published on the FSANZ website after responses close.
FSANZ has provided public notification and welcomes your submission to assist with refining our final recommendations.

The preliminary position paper can be accessed from the HSR preparatory work and NIP review webpage on the FSANZ website. Please read this document before preparing your response.
